Production Designer & Game Developer

I'm Ollie, Production Designer by day and Game Designer by night. I have a background & degree in games programming, but my passion lies in game design and level design.

Heavily inspired by studios such as Arkane, Looking Glass, Bethesda and CD Projekt Red, I aspire to create immersive, engaging game experiences where players have the agency to forge their own path.

My main skills include C#/C++ programming, game mechanics design & prototyping and visual design. I love working both in a team or by myself, and I'm keen to take on new challenges.

Check out my personal favourite projects below, and feel free the explore the portfolio and see more about me and the other games I've worked on!

Backrooms '96

2022, solo project, Unity

Inspired by the 'Backrooms' phenomenon and short horror games from the early 2010s, Backrooms '96 is a procedural found-footage horror game, seen through the lens of a 1996 camcorder.

Developed over a few months, this was my first project with enemy AI and procedural elements, allowing more replayability and unpredictability than my previous projects.

Backrooms '96 has been downloaded over 1200 times and has found a surprising player base in Japan, and has been covered by japanese media.

Ardentide Island

2021, solo project, Unity

Developed for my honours project & dissertation, Ardentide Island explores how game environments and mechanics can be influenced by the player's emotional state.

The game was developed over 5 months and includes first-person exploration, puzzles, dynamic weather and real-time facial expression detection.

The Infinite Parable

2020, team game jam, Unity

Created in the Ludum Dare 4 game jam, The Infinite Parable is a time-loop first-person puzzle game, taking inspiration from The Stanley Parable and Portal.

Developed in 72 hours with a team of 4, I handled puzzles, player movement, object & world interaction, UI, and some 2D art.
